Coaches' Bios
Our classes are led by a team of exceptional candidates, each with a proven track record in the highly esteemed and fiercely competitive American high school speech and debate circuit. These coaches, who have dedicated countless hours to their craft, have excelled nationally and reached the elimination rounds at many top invitationals, such as Stephen Stewart, Jon Schamber, TOC Digital Series, Stanford Invitationals, Loyola, College Prep, Peninsula, and the Harvard Round Robin. They have repeatedly qualified for the NSDA Nationals (National Speech and Debate Association), Tournament of Champions (TOC), and CHSSA State Tournament, a testament to their skill and dedication. We are also actively hiring more coaches for our fall program.
Danielle S.
Danielle is the current Coach and Vice President of Speech and Debate team at Ohio State University (OSU). She is majoring in Public Health at OSU. She coaches 3 debate events, including LD at OSU. Danielle attended GlenOak High School in Canton, Ohio. She served as the LD Captain of her team for the 2 years that she was in debate. She was a three-time state qualifier and a one-time national qualifier in which she placed in the top 0.05% in the world for World Schools Debate. She graduated from high school a year early and is attending Ohio State University. She coached Speech and Debate to marginalized students internationally during high school for the Eloquence Academy. Outside of debate, Danielle enjoys working out, traveling, playing volleyball, skating, and spending time with friends.
Daniel Z.
Daniel is a sophomore at John Carroll University pursuing a B.S. in Biology. He competed in Lincoln-Douglas Debate for four years and was a nationally ranked debater, placing 23rd at the 2025 NSDA National Tournament and being ranked 4th in Ohio. He has 11 lifetime state bids, 3 state qualifications, and 2 NSDA national qualifications in Lincoln-Douglas Debate. He was three times state finalist (2023, 2024, 2025). As head of the Lincoln-Douglas Debate Team at Jackson High School, he led team instruction by designing and delivering rebuttal lectures, hosting presentations for 30+ debaters, and guiding debaters through practice rounds, critiques, and tournament prep. Organized practices, provided feedback, and strengthened team performance. He specializes in perfecting the 1AR and other rebuttals, cornering opponents in cross-ex, and constructing unique, strategic cases. His coaching focuses on precision, strategy, and adaptability, helping debaters refine their argumentation, tighten their technical execution, and maximize round efficiency.

Elizabeth S. (Speech and Debate) - (Summer 2024 & 2025)
Qualified to CHSSA State Tournament and NSDA Nationals 3 times each in various events (Lincoln-Douglas, Informative Speaking, and Parliamentary debate)
Have experience in Impromptu, Informative Speaking, Oratorical Interpretation, and Extemporaneous Speaking
Reached double-Octofinals (top 32) at the 2022 Tournament of Champions in LD
Reached late elimination rounds at national LD invitationals such as Loyola, College Prep, Peninsula, and the Harvard Round Robin
Have significant experience working with and mentoring students on the MHHS team in both speech and debate
Taught at 3 sessions of debate camp in the summer of 2023 for Victory Briefs Institute and The Debate Intensive
Have coached 2 full years of LD debate at all levels with various programs (DebateDrills and Immaculate Heart High School & Middle School), helping develop curriculum and advising students at national tournaments
Currently studying geophysics at UCLA
Manreet K. (Speech) Fall 2024 & Summer 2025
Have significant experience competing in Original Oratory, Original Advocacy, and Impromptu.
Reached late elimination rounds at National Invitationals such as Berkeley in Oratory, at MLK Invitational in Oratory and Advocacy, the Claremont Wolfpack Invitational in Oratory, and Finals at Jack Howe Invitational in Oratory.
Qualified to National Individual Event Tournament of Champions and Competed in Tournament of Champions in Original Oratory in 2020 with 4 bids.
Qualified and Competed in the CHSSA State Tournament in Original Advocacy in (2019).
Have significant experience working with and mentoring students on the MHHS Speech Team for Original Oratory and Original Advocacy.
Graduated (2024) with a Dual Bachelor in Economics and Computer Science from UC Davis.
Currently conducting research in Machine Learning.
