Novice (Beginner's and Intermediate level), Grades 6 to 12

Less than one year experience (Lincoln Douglas Debate)

Beginner's: No expereince.

12-week, 1.5 hours a week,  Extra practice = 12 to 14 hours. Offline help for constructive case feedback and rebuttal redo's = 2 hours. Total 32 to 34 hours including extra practice and offline help.

Intermediate: One semester experience or summer camp experience

12-week, 1.5 hours a week,  Extra practice =14 to 15 hours. Offline help for constructive case feedback and rebuttal redo's = 3 to 5 hours. Total 36 to 38 hours including extra practice and offline help.

The class will focus on the thoughtful and logical construction of arguments, understanding the order and structure of a debate, topic analysis, research guides, brainstorming arguments, and building a case. Learn rebuttals, flow, speech strategies, cross-examination, and how to build confidence in delivering speeches, weighing, and voters/persuasion techniques. Coaches introduce various debate drills to align with the class lecture. Intermediate students will deepen their understanding of framework strategy, learn how to write stronger contentions backed by real evidence, and develop the cross-examination and rebuttal skills that put opponents on the defensive. Round vision, strategy-building, crystallization in the final speech, and the addition of rhetorical elements are part of the Intermediate curriculum. We'll work on flow, time allocation, and staying composed under pressure when the round isn't going your way. A minimum enrollment of four students is required.

• All students are invited to extra practice, regardless of whether they participate in the tournament—no classes during Fall and Thanksgiving break.

• Workshops are organized for card cutting and other important activities.

• Our online program is structured and involves different drills, impromptu, lectures, assignments, and mock debates

Cancellation/Refund Policy:  Parents will be eligible for a partial refund if the student is withdrawn after program starts based on prorated policy. 

Payment Policy: Payment can be made in three installments—the first payment at the time of signing up for the program. Subsequent payments are to be made by the first of each month.
