Online Advanced Debate Program, Grades 6-12

More than one year of experience; must have participated in multiple tournaments. Lincoln-Douglas Debate AND

Public Forum Debate. Both groups will be separate.

12-week, 1.5 hours a week, Extra practice = 14-15 hours. Offline help for constructive case feedback and rebuttal redo's = 3 to 5 hours Total 36 to 38 hours including extra practice and offline help.

Lincoln Douglas

You know the basics, so now it's time to get deeper. This program is designed for debaters who have competed several times before and are ready to take their game to the next level. You'll deepen your understanding of framework strategy, learn to write stronger contentions backed by credible evidence, and develop cross-examination skills that put opponents on the defensive. Advanced LD (Lincoln-Douglas) debate strategies involve mastering judge adaptation (traditional vs. circuit), strategic argumentation, extending the offense, and high-level contention strategies through deep-dive research guides and questions. Learn effective rebuttal techniques, round vision and collapsing strategies for the final speech, voter and weighing, judges' adaptation,  build narrative, and participate in many debate drills/mock debates. A minimum enrollment of 4 students is required. Rebuttal redo subbmissions are mandatory for advanced students. No classes during Fall and Thanksgiving break. Small class size (will not be more than 6 students).

The Public Forum group will be a separate group and will have a different curriculum.

Lincoln-Douglas debate is a 1:1 student format. Public Forum debate is a 2:2 student format. 

Public Forum

Discourse Power’s PF Debate course, fully structured, designed for all level of students. Rather than teaching skills in isolation, this course will systematically train students to think like competitive debaters, integrating research, strategy, and persuasive communication around a single national-level topic. Students will receive intensive instruction on evidence quality, impact comparison, judge adaptation, and round-level decision-making, with frequent 1-on-1 coaching. Beyond competitive success, students will walk away with the skills needed for advanced academics, selective college admissions, and leadership in high-impact fields. We will participate in 4 tournaments and support students to prep for all middle and high school  tournaments.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: Parents are eligible for a partial refund if the student is withdrawn in the middle of the program, based on the prorated policy.

Payment: Payment can be made in three installments—the first payment at the time of signing up for the program. Subsequent payments are to be made by the first of each month.
