Online Advanced Debate Program

Advanced Debate Program: For grades 8 to 12 - One year of debate experience and must have participated in some tournaments. 14-week program, 1.5 hours each day. Additional 16 to 19 hours for extra practice during the semester (Tournament Prep) for 14-week program.

Advanced LD (Lincoln Douglas) debate strategies involve mastering judge adaptation (traditional vs. circuit), strategic argumentation (diversifying attacks, prioritizing offense), effective rebuttal techniques (splitting the 2NR, collapsing), rigorous research, strong framework/weighing, and understanding proof burdens, all while focusing on persuasive communication and case construction. How to defend against Kritik's plans/counterplans is included.

Public Forum Debate (PF) is a two-on-two debate that focuses on current event topics. Resolutions change frequently throughout the season. Topic  analysis, research, finding good evidence, case making, cross fire, rebuttals, flowing, final focus/strategies, salvage the round, weighing and summary. A minimum of five students' enrollment is required, with a maximum of 8 students. No classes during the Spring break.

14-week= Instructional (21) + Extra Practice (16 to 19) = 37 to 40 hours in a semester

16-week= Instructional + Extra Practice = 50 hours in a semester

This is a group class; a minimum of five students is required. 


Location: Online Class


Cancellation/Refund Policy: The prorated process applies if the student withdraws before the last session of the program. This will be calculated based on the number of weeks students attended the sessions during the semester. 


Payment: The payment can be paid in three monthly installments. The first installment is due befofe the course begins. Rest of the installments will be due first of each month.
